P3 Baseball & Softball is the flagship youth baseball and softball program of the Pier, Park & Playground Association (P3)—a nonprofit dedicated to creating inclusive, high-quality sports opportunities for kids living in downtown Manhattan and across New York City.
We offer year-round, affordable instruction through camps, afterschool programs, clinics, and private training at Pier 40, making use of both outdoor fields and our own indoor training facility, complete with batting cages and specialized equipment. This facility is made possible through a generous partnership with the Hudson River Park Trust.
Our coaching staff is made up of former professional, collegiate, and semi-pro players who not only know the game—they live it, love it, and lead with heart. P3 Coaches CARE. They celebrate birthdays, track down lost gloves, share pizza after practice, and text to check in after an injury. Many have been coaching in this community for years—some for decades—and they understand the unique needs, challenges, and goals of the kids who come through our doors.
Some of our coaches are even former P3 players themselves, returning to give back to the very program that helped shape their own love of the game. That lived experience—of having been the kid on the field—makes them uniquely attuned to how to reach and inspire the next generation.
Whether your child is here to have fun, build confidence, or chase a bigger dream, our coaches know how to meet them where they are. They’re mentors, motivators, and some of the kindest, coolest people your child will meet in sports. They don’t just get the game—they get your kid. And sometimes, they once were your kid.
At the core of everything we do is player development. Whether a child is swinging a bat for the first time or gearing up for high school tryouts, our programs are designed to help athletes build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game. We focus on fundamentals, mental growth, physical fitness, and team dynamics—because baseball and softball are more than just sports; they’re pathways to character, leadership, and community.
And most importantly: we believe that every child deserves access to this opportunity. Regardless of zip code, income, or previous experience, P3 is committed to equity in youth sports. We provide financial assistance, flexible scheduling, and sliding-scale options to ensure our programming is available and affordable for all NYC families. We’ll always do our part to make sure that if a kid wants to play, they can.
At P3, we believe every child deserves the chance to play—regardless of financial circumstances. That’s why we offer a “Pay What You Can” scholarship option.
We simply ask that you share a few details about your request—if you're comfortable doing so—so we can better understand your situation and ensure support reaches those who need it most.
